Caravan Parks & Camping Grounds

A caravan park is an area of land on which caravans and camps are situated for habitation. A camping ground is an area of land on which camps, but not caravans, are situated for habitation.

Applications for a new caravan park or camping ground, including temporary parks or grounds, must be submitted to the Town’s Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) for assessment and approval. The Town’s EHOs conduct regular compliance inspections of all licensed caravan parks and camping grounds to ensure that compliance is maintained with the relevant legislation.
