Port Hedland Dust Management Community Open Day

Published on Friday, 25 August 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

The Western Australian Government will hold a Community Open Day on Friday 1 September to provide information on the Port Hedland Dust Management Taskforce Report, released earlier this month.

The report, which is currently open for public comment, presents an overview of the dust issues in Port Hedland, particularly in the West End. It also outlines the steps being taken by industry and regulators to mitigate dust issues and a series of recommendations for Government consideration.

Mayor Camilo Blanco has endorsed the release of the full Report and encouraged a whole of community response to address the long-standing issue.

"The release of this report and scheduled Open Day provides a unique opportunity for our community to have a say and we strongly encourage everyone to become a part of the discussion.”

The Community Open Day will take place on Friday, 1 September 2017, from 11am to 7pm at the Town of Port Hedland Council Chambers, McGregor Street, Port Hedland.

Public submissions close on Friday, 6 October 2017.

Submissions should be sent to porthedlanddust@jtsi.wa.gov.au
