Get Ready to Make Hedland's History

A number of sessions designed to preserve items of historical significance will kick off from tomorrow at Port Hedland Library from 10am – 12pm.

Community members are encouraged to bring along historical items for preservation, such as family photographs, letters, diary pages, newspaper clippings, wills, deeds and essays.

These items will then be scanned electronically and make up Hedland’s collection of historical artefacts.

Richard Offen, an Author, Historian and Broadcaster, will be the special guest facilitator at the sessions.

This project is supported by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, The Town of Port Hedland, The Port Hedland Historical Society and the Pilbara Regional Council.
