Beechworth Baking Success Story comes to Hedland

Published on Wednesday, 23 May 2018 at 6:28:43 PM

The Town of Port Hedland, Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Regional Development Australia-Pilbara will welcome entrepreneurial baker, Tom O’Toole, at a special business breakfast this June.

The event is part of the Business Breakfast series, which aims to foster entrepreneurship and share business ideas amongst Hedland organisations.

Under Tom O’Toole’s leadership, the Victorian based Beechworth Bakery surged from an annual turnover of $100,000 to over $17 million, with multiple bakeries now across regional Victoria, serving over one million customers.

The Bakery is now the highest earning single bakery retailer in Australia, winner of several Marketing and Business Awards and an emulated business model.

Mr O’Toole’s entrepreneurial spirit also saw staff numbers grow from two to 250 full and part time staff across the organisation.

Mayor Camilo Blanco said the breakfast was a prime opportunity for the community to join in on a business building conversation.

“Tom O’Toole’s story is quite remarkable and represents how regional based businesses can rise to the top of the national stage.

“Through idea sharing and conversations, Hedland based businesses can potentially find new opportunities for growth and collaboration which benefit the whole community.

“I think it’s great that the Chamber runs these breakfasts, and I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to attend.

The business breakfast with Tom O’Toole is being held on Wednesday 27 June at 7.15am, for a 7.30am start at the Ibis Styles Hotel in Port Hedland.

The price for attendance is $30 per person for Chamber members and $40 for non-Chamber members.

Due to limited numbers, registrations are essential. Please contact the Chamber via info@phcci.com.au or on 9173 1737 to book your place.

This event was made possible by the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce Inc., Regional Development Australia and celebrity speakers.
