There have been three fires caused by residents putting hazardous items in their yellow-lid recycling bin over the last few weeks.
The fires have been caused by household batteries, however other non-recyclable items from Hedland loads recently have included green waste, computer parts, animal bones and waste, nappies and clothes and shoes.
