Community members are invited to attend a free Town Team Sundowner on Friday, 9 July from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Lotteries House (4 Rason Link, South Hedland) intended for community members interested in learning more about how to lead future community projects. Organising a town team in South Hedland is your opportunity to meet community-minded locals and get involved in future initiative such as local events, art projects, and street beautification. A separate community engagement workshop is planned on Saturday, 10 July from 12pm to 2:30pm at the Function Room, Lotteries House, South Hedland to help us co-design future experiences and improvements to the South Hedland town centre. The Workshops are part of Phase 2 of the Town’s community consultation to inform the preparation of the Town’s South Hedland Place Plan, which seeks to implement a community-led vision for the future of South Hedland town centre. Place making is a community led process, with community members having a greater say in what happens in their local area. Mayor Carter encouraged local residents to RSVP for either of the Workshops. “The Town has partnered with Town Team Movement to prepare the South Hedland Place Plan, putting local residents in the driver’s seat to shape the future of South Hedland town centre. “Council and I are committed to providing local residents with the opportunity to have their say in strategic plans, in line with the Town’s Strategic Community Plan 2018-2028. “The community workshops will provide you with the chance to learn more about the Place Plan and provide your input on how we can all create a safe, more welcoming and more active South Hedland town centre.” Click here to RSVP for the community engagement workshop.
