Welcome to Hedland Digital takes annual expo global

Published on Wednesday, 20 May 2020 at 11:33:43 AM

Community groups, businesses, artists, musicians and performers are invited to submit a free digital profile as part of the Town of Port Hedland and Pilbara Ports Authority Welcome to Hedland Digital event.

Organisations or individuals who would like to participate simply need to fill in an online form with key information, which will then be uploaded onto the Welcome to Hedland website as a digital profile, launching on Friday 12 June.

The free digital profile will be accessible to anyone in the world, introducing Hedland’s vibrant community groups and artisans to prospective tourists and new residents.

Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP said the digital event was part of the Town’s commitment to continue engaging the community during COVID-19 restrictions.

“The strength of this year’s Welcome to Hedland Digital event is that it has taken the event beyond the town square and transported it online, meaning a limitless number of people can attend.

“The platform will serve as a one stop shop for what Hedland has to offer, valuable information for anyone considering a visit to Hedland once regional travel is possible again.

“COVID-19 restrictions will see a shift to more domestic travel for the foreseeable future, meaning we have the opportunity to attract more visitors to Hedland from within WA. Showcasing what makes Hedland special is a key part of this attraction.

“For musicians and performers, a digital profile can be used to showcase your talent and keep top of mind for when live event bookings kick off again.

“Submissions close on Monday 1 June at 3pm, so don’t miss this fantastic opportunity.”
