Voting is now open for the 2018 Festive Lights and Decorations People’s Choice Category, made possible by Horizon Power and the Northwest Telegraph.
A total of 19 properties nominated in this year’s competition, with entries spanning from Port to the fringes of South Hedland.
Nominees were asked to nominate in the categories of Best Display Port, Best Display South or Best Sustainable Display, with all nominees now eligible for the People’s Choice Category.
Mayor Camilo Blanco congratulated all the nominees on their work and getting into the festive spirit.
“I’d like to congratulate everyone for all the hard work which has gone into lighting up Hedland this festive season, with some exceptional displays now up around Town.
“It was particularly enjoyable to read the sustainable nominations and the extra thought that went into the environmentally friendly displays.
“People have even placed displays on roofs and created walk through displays, taking this year’s entries to the next level.
“As I’ve driven around, it’s incredible to see the amount of work which has gone into brining festive cheer and wonder to our streets.
“I encourage everyone to click here and vote their favourite light and decorations display.”
Voting for the People’s Choice Category closes Thursday 20 December and will be announced at the Twilight Movie screening on Saturday 22 December and on the Town of Port Hedland Facebook Page.
