Family Favourites for all ages will be screening as part of the Town of Port Hedland and Pilbara Ports Authority’s “Twilight Movies Series”.
On selected dates from December 2018 to June 2019, the Civic Centre Gardens will host a pop up screen under the Pilbara night sky, adding a new element to the movie going experience.
The first film screening will be “Arthur Christmas” with a duration of 97 minutes on Saturday, 22 December at 6.30pm, answering the age old question of how Santa delivers all those presents in one night.
Mayor Camilo Blanco said the event was a great family night out, further strengthening the Town’s roster of arts offerings.
“I’m pleased this event gives families of all ages the chance to do something which is also held in metropolitan centres the world over.
"People can bring their own blankets, pillows, food and drink, relaxing on the turf with great company and atmosphere.
“The twilight movie series compliments the family films screened at the Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema in South Hedland, but is more of a social event.
"Food vans will be onsite from 6.30pm on the night, offering a delicious selection of treats to choose from.
“These screenings are accessible events, with accessible parking and toilet facilities onsite.
“There will also be assisted listening devices available on request.”
Please be advised this is a family friendly, drug and alcohol free event.
