The Town of Port Hedland has commenced Swimming Pool and Spa Enclosure inspections, with the intention of inspecting barriers at over 650 private properties over the next four months.
Under the Building Regulations 2012, inspections must be completed at a maximum of four years apart, to ensure compliance with the regulations.
It is the responsibility of both the owner and the occupant of a property to ensure the pool barrier is compliant at all times.
Notifications will be provided to both owners and tenants prior to inspections being conducted.
Common non-compliance issues include gates not self-closing or self-latching, or objects (including pot plants and furniture) being placed within the non-climbable zones.
An inspection time can be booked if you would like to be present for the inspection.
