Sutherland Street in the Spotlight for Upgrades

Published: Tuesday, 2 April 2019 at 2:35:58 PM

Community Members are advised of upcoming improvement works along Sutherland Street in Port Hedland.

The section of Sutherland Road to be upgraded is 2.15km of road between Howe and Lukis Street.

Works will include demolition, pavement, construction, kerb construction, line marking and landscaping.

Works are scheduled to commence from Wednesday 3 April, running for approximately 4 weeks.

Mayor Camilo Blanco said the works were part of the Town’s Road Renewal Program.

“Sutherland Street is heavily frequented, utilised by residents, community organisations and businesses on a daily basis.

“This upgrade will improve offsite parking, with better line markings and solid verge construction improving safety.

“I would please ask residents not to park on the verge while these works are occurring, as it will obstruct the required works.

“If you find the works on Sutherland Street to be disruptive, please utilise the adjacent Anderson Street.
“Please drive carefully around works crews and abide by signage.”
