Shoata Road reconstruction works set to continue

Published on Monday, 10 August 2020 at 4:31:15 PM

Town of Port Hedland community members, businesses and stakeholders are advised that stage 2 reconstruction of Shoata Road will continue this Friday 14 August 2020, with a projected completion by early September.

Quartz Quarry Road will be closed for the duration of the works.

These works are part of the Town’s road renewal program and strategic commitment to invest in key infrastructure for the future.

Once the road is sealed, it will provide all weather access for key Shoata Road users and will  better support heavy vehicles; particularly those from the mining industry and Wedgefield businesses.

Care is being taken by the Town of Port Hedland and contractors to minimise the impact to all stakeholders along Shoata Road and Quartz Quarry Road. Please exercise caution around these areas during these dates by driving safely, abiding by signage and following all directions from works crews.

The best alternate route to South Hedland Rural Estate (Bosna) while the works are being undertaken is via Yarrie Road.
