Revive on the drive for your chance to win one of two $100 fuel vouchers!

Published on Friday, 24 September 2021 at 11:05:02 AM

The Hedland Community Road Safety Action Group are running the Revive on the Drive competition, encouraging local drivers to avoid fatigue during the upcoming school holidays.

To enter, step one is to find a WA Safe Stopping Place using the map; step two is to take a photo at a Safe Stopping Place; step three is to upload this photo to your personal Facebook page and step four is to include the location, hashtag #ReviveOnTheDrive and tag the Town’s Facebook page in your upload.

The competition runs from 12:01am Saturday 25 September until 12:59pm Sunday 10 October 2021. The two winners will be drawn at random at 11am Tuesday 12 October 2021.

One photo upload is equivalent to one entry, and participants may enter as many times as they wish.

CEO Carl Askew encouraged local drivers 18 years and older to participate in the competition.

“The Revive on the Drive competition encouragers drivers to stop at one of the many Safe Stopping Places throughout WA on their travels these school holidays, take a photo and upload it to their Facebook page with the location and hashtag. That’s all you have to do for your chance to win one of two fuel vouchers worth $100 each.

“Fatigue is a silent killer on our roads. In 2018, 87% of the state’s fatigue related fatalities occurred in regional WA.

“The Hedland Community Road Safety Action Group is committed to raising awareness about driver fatigue. Planning for 7.5 hours of sleep before driving, taking a break every two hours and swapping drivers regularly are ways we can all fight driver fatigue.

“Don’t ignore the yawning signs: wandering thoughts; missing a gear, road sign or exit; slowing or speeding up intentionally and braking too late are all signs that it’s time to take a break on your trip.

“I look forward to seeing the photos local drivers upload throughout the competition – good luck!”
