Published on Friday, 6 August 2021 at 12:50:43 PM

Regional artists Jacob de Gaye and Tanya Ransom will be joining San Cisco and Thornbird at the North West Festival on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August in the Civic Centre Gardens, presented by the Town and BHP.

Tanya Ransom’s signature folk blues sounds and alternative country style saw her awarded the 2020 WAM Best Regional Act and the Nannup Music Festival’s Director’s Award. A regular on the WA touring circuit, she has received high rotation on Double J, Triple J, ABC radio and community radio stations across Australia.

Tanya has supported acts such as Kate Miller-Heidke, Missy Higgins, Boy & Bear and John Butler.

Hedland based Jacob de Gaye effortlessly fuses RnB, Reggae, Rock, Pop and Funk into multi-instrumentalist performance, electrifying audiences at sold out shows across the country. He is currently touring Australia’s North West, supporting names such as Down Syde and Caravana Sun.

Tanya and Jacob will be playing both days of the North West Festival, providing all patrons the opportunity to see them perform live.

Mayor Carter encouraged residents to come along to the Festival to support regional artists.

“I’m pleased Tanya Ransom and Jacob de Gaye will be joining the 2021 North West Festival line up on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August, bringing an eclectic mix of musical styles to the stage.

“The North West Festival format gives up-and-coming artists the chance to shine at the Pilbara’s premiere music event, which we’re delivering in a COVID-safe way.

“Particularly during these challenging times for the creative industries, it’s more important than ever to come out and support live musicians.

“Tanya and Jacob will be sharing the stage with San Cisco and Thornbird, with family friendly activities on offer on Sunday. Make sure you purchase your tickets via www.moshtix.com.”
