The Town of Port Hedland’s annual green waste collection service has concluded for 2018, with record tonnage collected by the Town’s Works crew.
In total, 350 tonnes of green waste was picked up from the verge, the equivalent to 343 truckloads.
This collection amount represents a 46% increase compared with previous years.
The Town of Port Hedland wishes to thank residents, businesses and local organisations for participating in the campaign.
This collection has improved community safety by reducing the potential for green waste to become flying debris hazards during cyclonic weather events.
Please be advised that any remaining green waste left on the verge will need to be taken to the landfill by the property’s tenants or ratepayers.
It is free to dispose of green waste at the landfill.
If you have any questions, please contact 9158 9300.
