Public Notice - Proposed Waste Amendment Local Law 2021

The Town of Port Hedland proposes to make a local law to govern waste.

The purpose of this local law is to provide a statutory framework to regulate the collection, disposal and storage of waste and recyclable materials within the Town of Port Hedland.

The effect of this local law is to stipulate the responsibilities of the Town and its residents in relation to waste management, including the collection, disposal and storage of waste and recycling materials for the benefit of the community and protection of the environment, and to provide capacity to enforce contraventions to the laws.

A copy of the local law may be inspected or obtained from here or from the Civic Centre, 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland, between Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Submissions regarding the proposed Town of Port Hedland Waste Local Law must be submitted by email to council@porthedland.wa.gov.au or post addressed to: Chief Executive Officer, Box 41, Port Hedland WA 6721.

Submissions are to be received by the Town, by 4pm Thursday 14 October 2021.
