The Town of Port Hedland has resolved to adopt the Town of Port Hedland Waste Amendment Local Law 2022.
The purpose being to provide a statutory framework to regulate the collection, disposal, and storage of waste and recyclable materials within the Town of Port Hedland (Town).
The effect is to stipulate the responsibilities of the Town and its residents in relation to waste management, including the collection, disposal and storage of waste and recycling materials for the benefit of the community and protection of the environment, and to provide capacity to enforce contraventions to the laws.
A copy of the local law may be inspected at or obtained from the Town of Port Hedland website http://www.porthedland.wa.gov.au/local-laws.aspx
or obtained from the Civic Centre, McGregor Street, Port Hedland, Monday to Friday, and the Port Hedland and South Hedland Libraries during normal working hours.
This local law was gazetted on 8th March 2022 and will come into operation on 22nd March 2022.
