Please be advised of changes to social gathering rules and Council operations as a result of WA moving to phase 3 COVID-19 restrictions, from Saturday 6 June.

The previous 4 square metre rule will be revised to 2 square metres per person for all indoor venues. Physical distancing and good hygiene need to be observed at all times.

Non-work indoor and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people are permitted per single undivided space, with the 2 square metres per person rule applicable.

Weddings and funerals are permitted to have up to 100 people, and food businesses and licensed premises may operate with seated patrons, but only after completing a COVIDSafe plan.

All beauty services, including nail, tanning and waxing can resume.

The use of all playgrounds and skate parks will be permitted, with social distancing observed at all times.

The Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema will be screening movies from Saturday 13 June.

Wanangkura Stadium gym will be reopening from Monday 8 June, 5am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday. No bookings will be required for normal gym access, however bookings will still be required for scheduled fitness classes.

The JD Hardie Youth Zone remains closed for renovations.

Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP said it was important for local residents to keep up the good work.

“It will come as welcome relief for local residents that WA will be moving to phase 3 COVID-19 restrictions from Saturday 6 June. Residents have done an exceptional job of taking COVID-19 seriously and changing their lifestyles to help flatten the curve.

“Even though restrictions are easing, I urge everyone to continue social distancing, practice a high standard of personal hygiene and self-isolate if you are sick.”
