Published on Tuesday, 22 June 2021 at 2:59:41 PM

Presented by the Town and BHP, this year’s North West Festival will be held on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August in the Civic Centre Gardens, Port Hedland.

Due to state wide COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings, the Festival will be delivered on a smaller scale than previous years. Patrons will be required to bring their own picnic rugs and chairs.

Both days are all ages licensed events. Families are encouraged to attend the Sunday 22 August event featuring family friendly activities. The all WA artist line up will be the same on both days, giving all ticket purchasers the opportunity to experience the performances.

Both days will feature a licensed bar and food vendors, however patrons are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks.

The North West Festival is the Pilbara’s premiere music festival, celebrating live entertainment and providing a boost to the local economy. Acts in previous years have included Amy Shark, Baker Boy, Bliss n Eso, Sheppard, Hands Like Houses, Abby May and more.

Mayor Peter Carter welcomed the return of the Festival following a challenging 12 months.

“I’m pleased the Town and presenting partner BHP are bringing North West Festival back this August, staging an all WA line up for locals to enjoy in the Civic Centre Gardens.

“This event is made possible thanks to the Town and BHP’s Community Events Partnership worth $1.23 million, securing a diverse roster of events for the Hedland community to enjoy from 2019 through to 2022.

“We’re staging the same acts on the Saturday and Sunday, giving all ticket purchasers on either day the opportunity to experience the performances.

“With the easing of state wide COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings, the event will be delivered on a smaller scale and will be a seated event. Despite this, we’ll be putting on a world class performance for the whole family to enjoy!”

The Town will be announcing the artist line up and tickets will go on sale Friday, 25 June 2021.
