Almost 3000 attendees came to the past weekend’s North West Festival, breaking previous year’s ticket sales at Port Hedland’s Civic Centre Gardens venue.
Featuring Amy Shark, Baker Boy, The Potbelleez, Redhook, Pierce Brothers, Ash Grunwald and a selection of local acts, festival goers were treated to world calibre acts in the heart of the Pilbara.
Made possible by Presenting Partner BHP, Silver Sponsor Roy Hill, Sundowner Sponsor Fortescue Metals Group and more, the Pilbara’s Premier Music Event once again boosted regional tourism and strengthened the Town’s reputation for in-house event management.
Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling said the North West Festival’s 2019 success reflected the commitment and passion of all parties involved.
“I’d like to thank everyone who made the eighth annual North West Festival such a success, including sponsors, Town staff, contractors, volunteers, artists and of course those who attended.
“The Civic Centre Gardens venue has proved popular, serving as the platform for both Saturday’s late night festivities and the relaxed, family friendly Sunday Sundowner.
“On the whole, it was great to see people enjoy themselves in a safe, responsible manner and abide by the vicinity’s signage and directions to ensure everyone had a great time.
“This year’s line up brought together the cutting edge of Australian music, part of the Town’s commitment to hold events of a metropolitan scale and standard in the Pilbara.
The 2019 North West Festival was made possible by Presenting Partner BHP, Silver Sponsor Roy Hill, Sundowner Sponsor Fortescue Metals Group, Major Sponsors Goodline, Pilbara Ports Authority and Santos, Associated Sponsors Port Hedland International Airport, Cleanaway, Port Haven and The Esplanade Hotel and Media Sponsors GWN7, Northwest Telegraph, RedFM 91.7 and Spirit 94.1 Hedland.
