Infant friendly BYB 'Bring Your Baby' screenings set for the Matt Dann Theatre & Cinema

Published on Thursday, 30 January 2020 at 3:37:32 PM

The Matt Dann Theatre & Cinema have launched the infant friendly BYB Bring Your Baby initiative, with one screening at the end of each month apart from the school holiday period.

Children 5 and under are free; the sessions are friendly to infant noises and feature dimmed lighting and sound to protect little ears.

Prams are not permitted inside the theatre, however can be parked in the foyer. Baby carriers can be used in the theatre on seats.

Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling said the initiative enabled parents and carers to enjoy the cinematic experience with their young ones.

“The Matt Dann Theatre & Cinema’s new initiative, Bring Your Baby movie screenings, provide local families with an infant friendly environment to enjoy the latest releases.

“We listened to community feedback, recognising the difficulty of bringing babies and young children to regular movie screenings.

“The screenings will be friendly to infant noise, will have dimmed lights and sounds to protect little eyes and ears and be free for children 5 and under.

“We’re asking attendees to please park prams in the foyer, however baby carriers can be brought into the theatre.

“I look forward to seeing local enthusiasm for these special screenings, which kick off at the end of February.”

The first BYB Bring Your Baby movie session will be at 10AM on Saturday, 29 February. The Movie will be Like a Boss.

Attendees of all ages will need a ticket to enter the Cinema.
