Have your say in the South Hedland Place Plan surveys

Published on Wednesday, 21 April 2021 at 12:07:44 PM

Community members are invited to have a say in the South Hedland Place Plan surveys, which have been developed to uncover how people live, work and own businesses in the area.

The aim of the Plan is to guide government, community, business and property industry collaboration, to create a safer, more attractive and vibrant South Hedland City Centre.

The surveys’ scope includes the positives and negatives of living in the area, preferred amenities, the importance of showcasing the Pilbara’s identity, ranking areas of social priority and more. Survey responses will be used to inform the Plan’s development.

The Plan will provide a blueprint for Elected Members, Town leadership, staff, business, community groups and residents for how to grow and evolve South Hedland City Centre into the future.

Mayor Carter encouraged residents to participate in the surveys to have their voices heard.

“Three online surveys have been published, which give you the chance to ensure your lifestyle is captured and reflected in the South Hedland Place Plan.

“Whether you do the daily school drop off, pop down to the shops on a Saturday or own a business in the City Centre, we’d like to hear your thoughts on how to make South Hedland City Centre even better for the future.

“The Town is committed to providing regular opportunities for the broad community to have input into the Town’s plans and programs to promote transparency, accountability and two-way interaction.

Join us at the interactive ‘Dotmocracy’ session at the South Hedland Square Shopping Centre today at 4:30pm to 6:30pm or come along to the youth interactive session during SLAM basketball on Friday, 23 April from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the JD Hardie Youth & Community Hub to have a say.
