Registrations open 9am Wednesday 10 November for the Town’s Festive Lights Competition, made possible by Gold Sponsor Horizon Power and Media Supporter North West Telegraph.
The Competition provides Hedland households with the opportunity to get creative this festive season, with cash prizes on offer: $850 for best display, $700 for runner up best display, $550 for best sustainable display and $350 for the people’s choice.
Previous years have seen creative and elaborate displays light up streets across Hedland: there’s been palm scaling Santas, inflatable Santa cars, giant candy canes, walk through displays and more.
Households can register their address without needing to have the display completed. Displays need to be completed by Monday 6 December, when judging occurs.
Mayor Peter Carter encouraged local residents to register for this year’s Competition.

“This December, Hedland’s streets will light up with creative displays to get the community into the festive spirit.
“Whether you’re a first time or previous participant, all registrants have the chance to win up to the $850 cash prize for best display.
“Remember, you can register without having your display complete: displays need to be completed by Monday 6 December, when judging occurs.
