Free events toolkit available in hard copy and online

The Town of Port Hedland has launched a free community events toolkit, giving local community groups and organisations a ‘one stop shop’ for all the key information they need to consider before running an event in Hedland.

All events with over 50 attendees require an event organiser to submit an application to the Town; different types of events often require additional form submissions. The toolkit streamlines the process for applicants and includes a checklist.

The hardcopy toolkit is available for collection at the Civic Centre, JD Hardie Youth Zone and South Hedland Library. An e-book version is available on the Town of Port Hedland website.

Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP encouraged everyone to peruse the toolkit to understand the requirements of running an event.

“Hedland is home to a diverse array of active community groups, staging countless events throughout the year which contribute to the town’s attractiveness and livability.

“This toolkit is a fantastic resource which simplifies the event planning process for anyone, giving stakeholders a handy guide to what they need to submit to the Town.

“Inside, you’ll find all the facilities and public spaces which can be hired for your next event, as well as who to contact and important timeframes to keep in mind.

“This toolkit is part of the Town’s commitment to foster grassroots community events, a key tenant of our Arts and Culture Strategy.”
