Christmas cheer has come early for three Pretty Pool families, who have been crowned Festive Lights and Decoration Competition champions.
The Perkins family won $850 for Best Display at their 5 Pennings Court property, while the Flatt family from 17 Panjya Parade was awarded $700 as runners-up.
The Best Sustainable Display, worth $550 was awarded to the Finaughty family from 14 Cooper Place.
Fresh off the Festive Lights Express Bus the Hon Commissioner Fred Riebeling said he was blown away by the efforts of all of the participants in this year’s competition.
“It was really exciting to see how creative people got in demonstrating their festive feeling.
“We had 21 nominees this year, and it was a very close call to pick the best of the bunch.
“I’d like to congratulate all of the finalists who have brought an extra bit of joy to Hedland over the festive season and I encourage everyone to check out the displays if they haven’t already done so.”
The People’s Choice Category winner, worth $350 will be announced on Saturday 21 December at the Twilight Movies session in the Civic Centre Gardens.
