Published on Monday, 7 September 2020 at 3:39:35 PM

Hedland based businesses and not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for the Town’s Business and Tourism Innovation Grant, supporting projects, events or activities that advance and encourage increased visitation, participation and contribute to the presentation of the town to tourists.

Organisations can apply for up to $2,000 to go towards innovative business and tourism initiatives, such as website design, equipment, digital advertising, material for performances, construction, signage, PPE and administration fees.

Items not covered by the grant include the purchase, supply or licensing of alcohol, private or invitation only events, administration fees over 10% of the total activity cost, operations costs of the organisation or consultants and business plans.

Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP encouraged Hedland based businesses and not-for-profit organisations to consider how the grant could give them a boost.

“In the current challenging economic environment, now is a great opportunity to apply for the Town’s Business and Tourism Innovation Grant.

“If you’re looking to boost your online profile and find innovative, digital centric ways to reach prospective customers or members, this funding can go towards technological investments to achieve this.

“Applications close Wednesday 30 September, so log on to the Town’s Smarty Grants portal to submit your application!”
