The Town has completed this year’s annual pre-cyclone season green waste clean-up, making cyclone season safer for the local community.
This year’s clean-up took 23 days and resulted in 235 truckloads of green waste being collected across the local government area, 85 more truckloads compared to 2020.
A total of 115 tonnes of green waste was delivered to Landfill, minimising the risk of excess green waste becoming airborne during cyclones and causing damage.
The collection was facilitated by Goodline, MIB Traffic Control and Town staff.
The Town would like to thank all community members, businesses and community organisations who participated in this year’s clean up.
