Australia Day celebrations will return to South Hedland Aquatic Centre and Kevin Scott Oval next Tuesday, 26 January 2021.

From 2pm – 5pm, the Hedland community are invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun at the BHP Community Pool Party to be held at South Hedland Aquatic Centre.

We would like to remind families that;

  • Children under the age of ten years must be supervised at all times by a person sixteen years of age or older
  • Children under the age of five years must at all times be within arm’s length of a person sixteen years of age or older

For patrons who are wanting to do lap swimming, we encourage you to utilise Gratwick Aquatic Centre for the duration of Australia Day.
The community will receive free entry to South Hedland Aquatic Centre for the duration of Australia Day.

From 5:30pm at Kevin Scott Oval, the free Pilbara Ports Authority Fireworks Spectacular will feature live music, food vans and family friendly activities will be on offer. The fireworks display will take place at 8pm.

Remember although us humans enjoy fireworks, your pets may not be as impressed by them. It is encouraged you bring you pets inside and give them a safe place to wait out the loud noises from the fire works.

The following areas will be closed during stated times;
