The Role

As the Senior Arts, Culture, and Events officer you will responsible for the strategic direction of the Town’s events, arts & culture portfolio. Working towards activities that meet the outcomes of the Town’s Arts and Cultural Strategy, through development and programming, review and implementation of strategies within the portfolio.  Managing three main areas; Arts and Culture Programming / events, Public Art and The Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema.

The Matt Dann Theatre is a 302 preforming arts venue, which hosts mixture of live performance, programmed season shows, cinematic releases as well as venue for hire for local community, theatre, dance groups and traveling performers.

The Town of Port Hedland is home to a vibrant visual art scene, as the Senior Arts Culture and Events officer you will work to implement the Town’s Public Art Strategy as well as overseeing the set up and smooth delivery of event requirements for Port Hedland’s diverse community.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s license
  • Rights to work in Australia
