An opportunity has become available for a fast paced and hardworking individual ready to work in Local Government. This position reports to Manager Town Planning and Development and is responsible for providing efficient and confidential administrative support to the Planning and Development team within the Regulatory Services Directorate.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual who can liaise with all levels of the business as well as external organisations and members of the public. You will be providing administrative support to the planning and building department including property enquiries, administrative support to meetings, working groups and related forums as required, as well as conducting swimming pool inspections.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to build effective working relationships both within and outside the organisation. You will have an effective time management and ability to priorities tasks. Strong attention to detail but also the ability to problem solve.

The preferred candidate will have previous experience in a similar administrative role and will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or relevant field or demonstrated experience working in an administrative role
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
  • National Police Clearance
