The Town of Port Hedland is transitioning the management of the Wanangkura Stadium, South Hedland Aquatic Centre and Gratwick Aquatic Centre to in-house management and an exciting new position has opened up for an experienced Aquatic Education Officer.

This is a unique opportunity to bring your previous experience and qualifications to provide an Aquatic Education service within the Town of Port Hedland. As the Aquatic Education Officer, you will be responsible to provide appropriate levels of swimming instruction to Swim School participants.   We are looking for a passionate and motivated person to help develop a progressive culture of health and well-being in the Port Hedland community.

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Austswim Certificate in ‘Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety’
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current Working with Children
  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
