The Town of Port Hedland is transitioning the management of the Wanangkura Stadium, South Hedland Aquatic Centre and Gratwick Aquatic Centre to in-house management and an exciting new position has opened up for an experienced Personal Trainer.

As the Personal Trainer, you will be responsible for motivating people to pursue a healthy lifestyle by incorporating physical fitness activities into their daily routine, by understanding the needs of the client and planning a workout routine accordingly.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about health and fitness and takes pride in every client, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of motivation and ability to motivate others. The Town of Port Hedland offers a working environment that provides innovation, creativity and teamwork in addition to encouraging personal and professional development.

This is an open casual recruitment pool. The panel will regularly monitor this recruitment pool for applications, and will assess any applications received on a regular basis from which appointments may be made when casual vacancies arise.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Physical Fitness of an acceptable level to perform duties of a fitness leader
  • Certificate IV Personal Trainer or Higher (Sport Science)
  • Current Senior First Aid and CPR certification; with the ability to administer aid for minor injuries that may occur during training sessions
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children’s Check
