Location: Civic Centre   Occupation: Finance   Division: Town of Port Hedland

$103,443.60 per annum (including Port Hedland Allowance)

Fixed term 12 month contract

This exciting new role is responsible for researching, reviewing and analysing all rateable land and ensuring accurate rates assessment across the Town of Port Hedland.

We are looking for a person with a passion for problem solving using your analytical skills to obtain, process and communicate information.  You will be required to perform research and analyse and have the ability to concisely communicate your findings and prepare reports and legal briefs as required.

You will be able to demonstrate proven experience in interpreting Legislation, State Policies and contracts, and have an ability to conduct reviews of large databases.  Experience or working knowledge of Local Government Rating is highly desirable.

One of the foremost qualities will be the ability to be a self-starter and to work independently with minimal direction and have superior organisational skills.  It is your opportunity to use your initiative and strong research skills to improve and confirm the rates income for the Town.

The preferred candidate will have previous experience in a similar project analysis role preferably within the rates and property portfolio. You will also be required to undergo a pre-employment medical drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Analyst, Accounting, Commercial Law or similar and demonstrated experience in a Business Analyst, Accounting, Commercial Law or similar role
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
  • National Police Clearance
