The Marketing and Communications Officer will play a key role in developing and driving the Town of Port Hedland’s marketing and communication strategies. As well as the timely delivery of campaigns, marketing collateral and projects through digital and traditional channels, to deliver on the public relations and community engagement goals set out in the Town’s strategic vision.

The position will be based in Port Hedland, a town of rich heritage, spectacular landscapes, friendliness, a diverse and embracing community and relaxed lifestyle. As the largest bulk export port in the world, the town is home to global resource leaders and is significant to the national interest.

About you

We are seeking a marketing and communications all-rounder who can develop strategies and manage the production of collateral. Knowledge of the latest trends in social and digital media will be critical as well as the ability to create content on a range of platforms including; press advertisements, brochures, posters, presentations, videos, signage, online graphics and merchandise.

Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced environment and is proactive in building internal and external relationships to promote the great work the organisation is doing.

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a relevant field, with extensive relevant experience in a similar position
  • C Class Driver’s License
  • National Police Clearance
