An exciting opportunity exists for a strategic thinker with qualifications in planning and development to lead the high performing Town Planning Team.

You will need to be an experienced Planner with a track record of leadership in the delivery of town planning, building control and other regulatory functions. You will need to have had experience in dealing with complex planning and development issues, proven management skills and be able to delegate a significant workload across strategic projects, statutory planning and building assessments and managing compliance issues.

The successful candidate will have the proven ability to prepare high quality planning reports, studies and deliver strategic planning projects.

The Manager, Town Planning and Development will be the key planning advisor for the Council, with extensive delegated authority on planning matters and will have proven ability with being able to provide planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Position Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning, (or similar qualification recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia)
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
