A passion for community engagement is essential to the role having carriage of a variety of community programs and facilities.

The successful applicant will be an exceptional people-focused leader who can develop and promote the services the Town of Port Hedland has to offer. You will require extensive experience in community service delivery, project management, budgeting and community engagement.  You will have demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritise and plan ahead.

This is a hands on role suited to a positive, driven, vibrant and enthusiastic people person.

You will have proven ability engage meaningfully with communities to identify needs and design programs, services and facilities that enhance livability and amenity. You will be familiar with contemporary community development and community engagement principles and will ideally have experience in designing and delivering new community facilities.

Position Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Formal qualifications in a relevant field (Community Development, Business, Management, Leisure and Social Sciences) or extensive demonstrated experience
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
  • Current Working with Children Card
  • Current National Police Clearance
