An opportunity has become available for a motivated and experienced individual to join a dynamic and friendly team as the Accounts Officer within the Corporate & Performance Directorate. 

Our ideal applicant will have excellent time management skills, high attention to detail and ability to communicate with all levels within the organisation and external suppliers. The Accounts Officer will be responsible for; accurate processing of all creditor invoices and payments, all debtor accounts, ensuring approved trading terms are met and that credit checks are completed, monitoring payments and following up overdue accounts ensuring compliance with the Town of Port Hedland policies & procedures.

The position will be based in Port Hedland, a town of rich heritage, spectacular landscapes, friendliness, a diverse and embracing community and relaxed lifestyle. As the largest bulk export port in the world, the town is home to global resource leaders and is significant to the national interest.

The preferred candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, hold a Tertiary qualification in Accounting and will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline
  • Current ‘C’ class manual driver’s license
  • National Police Clearance
