Business Against Breast Cancer 2020

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Port Hedland’s Mother’s Day Classic, we’re launching the Business Against Breast Cancer initiative to encourage Hedland’s business community to dig deep and raise much needed funds for Breast Cancer Research.

We’d like to spark some friendly competition to see which business can raise the most money. Maybe you and your employees have been personally touched by Breast Cancer, or you know someone who has been. Breast Cancer impacts millions of lives across the world, so this is your chance to help fight the disease.

The winner of Business Against Breast Cancer will be determined by the highest average amount per team. For example, Team A with 50 people raises $200 (average of $4) and Team B with 4 people raises $200 (average of $50): Team B would be the winner!

The challenge will be decided on team fundraising amounts as of Thursday 7 May 2020 at 3pm AWST, with the winner announced at the Port Hedland Mother’s Day Classic event on Sunday 10 May 2020.

I'm an interested business! How do I enter?

Registering is super simple! Once you've finalised your Corporate Team and have come up with a name, simply visit www.mothersdayclassic.com.au and follow these instructions:

  1.  Nominate Your Team Captain: the Team Captain needs to be the first person in the team to register. This can be done through the normal online registration process - as an individual or family.
  2. Do you want to participate with a team?: During registration, the team captain will come to the question 'do you want to participate with a team?' Choose 'YES' and you will be prompted to create a team name, pick a category and choose a password. Passwords are non mandatory and can be skipped.
  3. Complete the registration: Once the Team Captain completes and pays for their registration, the team has been created and others will be able to sign up and join the team.
  4. Recruit your team: Get the word out and ask people to join your team! Email and social media are good tools for this. Let everyone know your team's name so they can find your team to sign up during the registration process
