Proposed Planning Documents

Council Planning Policies are local policies or requirements that are not covered in Town Planning Scheme No. 5 and may target specific development types. These proposed policies should be considered in conjunction with the Scheme, Scheme Amendments, Residential Design Codes and current policies prior to making application for a proposed development.

Athol Street Structure Plan

Application 2016/004 - Athol Street Structure Plan, Port Hedland. Comments/submissions can be made to the Council in writing on or before the close of business Wednesday 17 February 2016. Any submission may be made publicly available, and accordingly should indicate if the submitter requests to remain confidential.

Proposed Scheme Amendments

Scheme amendments generally involve rezoning or changes to the permissible use of land in particular zones, streets or specific areas. Proposed or finalised scheme amendments may affect the requirements of your proposed development.

Proposed Design Guidelines

Design Guidelines are planning documents designed to guide and improve the design and built form of areas within the Town.  Typically Design Guidelines are prepared to support the implementation of a structure plan for specific areas within the Town such as an activity centre but the could be prepared for the entire municipal area. Design Guidelines provide controls and guidance on elements such as building orientation, height, use of materials and colours and landscaping.
