The Pilbara region’s premier music event, North West Festival, is set to return this August.

Now in its sixth year, the festival will take on a reduced format in 2017, with a music event on Saturday 19th August and a Sundowner on Sunday 20th August.

Town of Port Hedland Mayor Camilo Blanco said he was excited to announce that with the support of BHP, the Town of Port Hedland’s biggest event will return.

“We know that the North West Festival is a much-loved event in the Port Hedland community and brings not only hundreds of visitors to town but also much-anticipated music acts,” Mayor Blanco said.

“We are delighted to have BHP on board as a Major sponsor to ensure that the weekend of music, culture and fun returns to Port Hedland,” he said.

“While the event has been scaled back this year, it is something that the whole community can look forward to. There is no other festival like this in the Pilbara region, and we hope the community enjoy what has always been a fantastic weekend.”

BHP Manager Maintenance Port, Casey Fimmel said that BHP was proud to be supporting an exciting local event as part of our long-standing and ongoing commitment to the Port Hedland community.

Details such as the line-up, location and ticketing will be released over the coming weeks.
