BRAD HOLDER, Matt Dann CULTURAL CENTRE SUPERVISOR

BRAD HOLDER My name is Brad and I’ve been working at the Matt Dann Theatre & Cinema now for just over 13 years. I started at the Matt Dann by volunteering through high school in the backstage world. After I finished school I became the Head Technician and eventually took over the role of Centre Supervisor. I’ve been pretty lucky because through this job I have had the opportunity to work with some rad artists including Birds of Tokyo, Drapht, Karnivool, The Potbelleez, Spiderbait and many more.

LEANNE LAWLESS, Human Resources Advisor

LEANNE LAWLESS My name is Leanne Lawless and I commenced with the Town in December 2014 as the Human Resources Advisor. Since commencing in my role I have moved from looking after one area (directorate) to providing support and guidance to the entire organisation. My focus in my role has been to act as a business partner to achieve business outcomes working alongside employees and management. This has included focusing on building relationships, improving processes as well as providing support to all levels of the organisation regarding employment conditions or concerns and dealing with grievances and complaint management. I enjoy the variety of work in my role as well as the benefits the Town of Port Hedland has to offer, I am also grateful for the opportunity I have had to advance my career in HR.

STEVEN LY, Coordinator Engineering Services

STEVEN LY My name is Steven and I and have been working for the Town since March 2014. One of the most interesting projects I have been involved in was the design and construction of Pinga Street, which included geotechnical investigation, pavement design, road design, procurement, construction and contract management. I enjoy my job with the challenges and responsibility that comes with it.

GARY WOODS G’day, my name is Garry. I have been an employee with the Town for the past four years as the Team Leader Parks and Gardens. In my role, I work with a team of five, maintaining all of the passive Parks and Gardens within South Hedland. With the support of the Town of Port Hedland, I have recently obtained a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens, giving me a trade qualification in my chosen field. My job allows me to work outside, providing greenspace for the greater Hedland community to enjoy.
