The Town of Port Hedland will open the Port Hedland Turf Club RV overflow Camping area from Wednesday 5th July.

Port Hedland Mayor Camilo Blanco said he was delighted to welcome tourists and grey nomads alike to Port Hedland.

“I am pleased to announce that the overflow camping site at Port Hedland Turf Club will open next week, and there will be no cost for a maximum three-night stay,” he said.

“We have implemented a grey water dump point at the racecourse grounds to make it easier for travellers to dispose of their waste from the kitchen sink, bathroom and shower of their recreational vehicle".

“The Town of Port Hedland is committed to diversifying our economy and leveraging our unique tourism opportunities here in Port Hedland. At the end of the 2017 tourist season we will re-evaluate the program and undertake further consultation with other local stakeholders to determine a suitable program for 2018”.

The RV overflow campsite will remain open until 31 August and visitors to Port Hedland in the coming months can enjoy our seasonal calendar highlights such as the North West Festival, Spinifex Spree, Port Hedland Turf Club Racing Season, West End Markets as well as taking in the natural beauty of the Pilbara and discovering Australia's North West
