Published on Monday, 24 July 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

Kav Temperley from Eskimo Joe, Tom Fisher, Miss Max and Ukulele Jay are set to take the stage at this year’s North West Festival Sundowner to be held on Sunday 20 August.

The Port Hedland Yacht Club will host the evening of live, laid back music to close the North West Festival. The event will also include family friendly activities including a bouncy castle and art activities.

The Sundowner will wrap up the 2017 North West Festival music weekender which includes performances from Boy and Bear, Spiderbait, Vera Blue, and local artist Mikey Smith.

Town of Port Hedland Mayor Camilo Blanco said that he is pleased to see this fantastic part of the North West Festival back for another year, with the help of Sundowner Sponsors Fortescue Metals Group (FMG).

“The Sundowner is always a fantastic night out, and a great chance for festival goers to experience world class music in a laid back environment, with the spectacular Port Hedland Yacht Club backdrop,” he said.

“We are excited to be able to bring these three nationally broadcasted acts to town. The community will also be happy to know that the Sundowner tickets are free of charge this year.

Fortescue General Manager Port and Rail Fernando Pereira said the ongoing support for the North West Festival Sundowner was just one way Fortescue was investing in local communities.

“At Fortescue, we are committed to maintaining a Pilbara-based workforce and ensuring communities like Port Hedland benefit from the success of our business,” Mr Pereira said.

“We value our long-standing relationship with the Town of Port Hedland, which is an essential part of our commitment.”

The Sundowner takes place from 3 pm on Sunday 20 August at the Port Hedland Yacht Club.

Tickets are available on the Town of Port Hedland website. Tickets are limited, and there will be no tickets available at the door.

The Town of Port Hedland is proud to be hosting the North West Festival, with the support of our Major Sponsor BHP, Event Partners Roy Hill, FMG, Atlas Iron, Pilbara Ports Authority, Pilbara Minerals, Tourism WA, Goodline, Landcorp and Conway Highbury and Media Partners North West Telegraph, Spirit Radio and REDFM.
