BMX, soccer, motorcycle club, gymnastics and hockey are just some of the sports available for young people to have a try of at the annual Have a Try Night on Friday 9 March.

Hosted by the Town of Port Hedland and supported by the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries, this night of fun is designed to provide local youth with the opportunity to try out a range of sports and activities that they may be interested in playing.

Port Hedland Mayor Camilo Blanco said that he was looking forward to the evening and anticipated that the success of previous years would be repeated.

“Have a Try Night has been opened up to an even broader age group this year with 5 – 17 year olds welcome to attend,” said Mayor Blanco.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for our young people to see what sports might interest them, without the commitment of paying for registration fees and equipment,”

“I really encourage all 5 – 17 year olds in the community to get involved in this fantastic event.”

This free event takes place at Kevin Scott Oval, South Hedland from 4.15pm – 6pm.
