Dash to the Libraries Tomorrow

Published on Tuesday, 22 May 2018 at 12:40:58 PM

Port and South Hedland Libraries are participating in the National Simultaneous Storytime Event tomorrow at 11am.

This event is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), seeking to promote literacy through the simultaneous reading of an Australian children’s book across hundreds of locations.

The chosen novel this year is Tony Wilson’s Hickory Dickory Dash, an entertaining tale about a cat and mouse chase which sees a mother mouse searching for her sons.

The event is in its 18th successful year, last year attracting over 686,324 participants in over 6,129 locations across Australia.

There will also be craft related activities following the reading of the novel.

If you would like more information, please contact the Port Library on 9158 9378 or South Library on 9158 9373 or visit the webpage here.
