The Town of Port Hedland is inviting input to its Strategic Community Plan 2018-2028, which will guide the planning and future direction of the Town for the next decade.
To ensure the entire community has an opportunity to have its say, the Town has developed the ‘Live it Tell it’ campaign - one of the most extensive community engagement exercises in recent years.
Town of Port Hedland Mayor, Camilo Blanco, highlighted the importance of the strategic review and encouraged everyone to participate.
“This process forms a part of the State Government’s planning and reporting requirements and is pivotal in helping shape our future strategic direction.”
“It’s vital that we gain input from as many people as we can and develop plans that reflect the aspirations and priorities of our community.”
“We need to tackle the big issues, but also look at our core essential services for the town and ways we can do things better. People can rate us on the quality of our service delivery and tell us what we can do to improve”.
The Town of Port Hedland’s "Live It Tell It campaign" needs to reflect the whole community’s aspirations and priorities. There are plenty of ways to get involved:
- Youth UpRising: Youth between the ages of 11-17 will be invited to join the Youth Uprising workshop and play a role in shaping Hedland’s future.
- ‘Live It Tell It’ Survey: Take time today to shape a better tomorrow. Simply visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LiveitTellitsurvey and go in the draw to win some great local prizes.
- Shop Pop-Ups: Visit a ‘Live It Tell it’ Pop-Up to have input into the Town of Port Hedland’s Strategic Community Plan 2018-2028. Join us on 9, 11, 23 and 25 November at South Hedland Square and on 16 and 18 November at Port Hedland Boulevard.
- Conversation Cafés: Everyone is invited to come and be part of the vision for Hedland’s future. Tell us what’s important to you and your family!
- Event Pop-Ups: Visit our ‘Live It Tell It’ Pop-Up at community events across town right through to December.
“You’ll start to see the slogan “Live it Tell it’ around town and on social media and I strongly encourage everyone to complete the survey, get involved and have their say.”
More information about the project, the survey, and other opportunities to be involved can be accessed at the Town of Port Hedland website at http://www.porthedland.wa.gov.au/our-community/community/liveittellit.aspx
