Local artist David Hooper will share his knowledge and skills about oil painting and colour theory in this fun and relaxed workshop. David is well known for his technique of creating textural pieces and using colour to elicit emotional response. This is also a great opportunity to meet the artist and build your creative network. ABOUT DAVID HOOPER
David Hooper has always been creative, having started his career as a jeweller before becoming a pastor for a local church. He still dabbles in jewellery however his main passion is oil painting. David’s work captures life in Port Hedland – the industry, the coast and the carefree lifestyle the town is famous for. He uses colour freely in his paintings, to communicate the beauty of the Port Hedland environment and add a dreamlike quality to the final piece.
David has exhibited regularly at the Courthouse Gallery, both in group exhibitions and two solo exhibitions, Port in 2011 and Growing up in Port Hedland in 2014.
