    HEDLAND SAYS NO TO VIOLENCE

It is nearing that time of year again and the Hedland Family Violence Action Group is asking for your help. We are a group of non-for-profit agencies and organizations working together to address the issues and concerns surrounding Family Violence in our community. Every year we plan together a HEDLAND SAYS NO 2 VIOLENCE week, which is running this year from the 23rd to 27th November. This week coincides with the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women held on the 25th November. Throughout this week we will be running numerous public events and community awareness and education events, as well as training events for those who work specifically with Domestic Violence in this community. This is such an important area of social concern for the Port Hedland Community and we are earnestly asking for your support. Some of the events running during this week include: Opening event in the South Hedland Shopping Centre; a Community Forum featuring a panel of experts in the field; an Agency Showcase In the Shopping Centre; a Pool party for the kids; an ‘Our Community Thanks You’ Luncheon for all those who work in the Family Violence area; … and more. This amazing week cannot happen without the support of local businesses and organizations. Your assistance in any way you can will be greatly appreciated. Some of the possibilities of support are - financial donations donations of time and people power to help the week run smoothly donations of equipment eg. BBQ’s, PA systems, eskies, stage equipment donations of talent, ability, or your particular trade or ‘thing’ We thank you for seriously considering your contribution to this important community event and look forward to hearing from you in the near future. If you decide to make a donations of $250.00 (or equivalent) or more, we will ensure that your business/organization name and/or logo is printed on all our advertising materials. All other donor’s will be recognised after the event through the media. Any banners that you may have can also be displayed during all our events, including the opening and closing ceremonies. To ensure that your logo in on all our advertising material we are asking for a fast response to be made by the 13th November 2009. Thank you for your time and support,
