TOWN RANGER RECOGNISED WITH TOP AWARD
The annual conference, held in Geraldton, celebrates the collaborative effort of all WA rangers to better the life of their community and provide a safe and healthy environment for residents to enjoy.
Mr Wilden said receiving the award was a distinctive tribute to the different areas he has serviced in over the past ten years.
“This award reminds me of how fortunate I am to have worked in some great locations, from the Goldfields to the Murchison to the Kimberley’s and now, to Port Hedland - it has been an amazing journey so far,” said Mr Wilden.
“I have met some fantastic and inspiring people along the way, learned the ropes of the job and served the community to the best of my abilities. Being a Ranger is more than a job, it’s a way of life - when a scrub fire turns out to be a two day marathon in 42 degree heat and when an injured dog needs nursing overnight as the Vet is over three hours away, you need the support of your family and the people around you to make it through.”
Chief Executive Officer Chris Adams congratulated Mr Wilden on receiving the award and stressed the important role the Town Rangers play in the community.
“This is a great opportunity to celebrate Peter’s high standards and achievement of excellence. This award not only acknowledges Peter’s dedication and hard work but is also a fine momento of the Town Rangers working behind the scenes to provide residents with essential services including dog control and animal welfare, and control of off road vehicles to name a few.”
