Youth Precinct Drawings
Designs to upgrade the Centre have included plans to cater for music technology, video, photography, performing and visual arts, dance and a drop-in lounge. The JD Hardie Centre is also proposed as office space for some of the Youth Involvement Council’s program managers.
There could also be opportunities for young people to train as mentors and volunteers and get involved in leadership and events management through the activities of the Hedland Youth Leadership Council, which will be based at the centre.
Plans also include a fitness studio, youth health clinic, counselling service and a minigolf course.
The aim of the project is to provide the young people of Hedland with a state of the art Centre, allowing them to access a range of recreation and community services in one central location
